My Bio

I worked for a major chartered Bank for 16 years.I then spent three years running a fishing store called" Fishin Buddies" in Ottawa.After 3 years of 17 hour days 6 days a week I sold out my interest and went back to my finance roots.I opened a mortgage brokerage operation for another company and moved back to Kingston.Nine months later that company was placed in receivership and I was out of a job.I bought the furniture from the receiver and I decided to open my own mortgage brokerage firm.For the first two months, we operated out of my garage at home until our new premises were ready.Business began each morning when we plugged the phones into my house line and we opened the garage doors.Thank goodness it was summer!
We opened in September 1989 with 3 staff.Today after almost 20 years and several evolutions,I have two partners,26 staff and we operate throughout Eastern Ontario.
I am a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers(1975).I am also a founder of our National Association CAAMP(Canadian Association of Accredited Mortgage Professionals.I hold my Accredited Mortgage Professional designation through CAAMP.
I am also a member of the Independent Mortgage Brokers Association of Ontario and hold my Certified Professional Mortgage Broker designation.
I am the chair elect the National Advisory Council for Verico Canada Inc.
I have two children.My daughter works for HSBC bank in London,England and my son works with me here in the business as a broker.
I have been married for 36 years to my wife Carol whose support over the years has allowed me the opportunity to be where we are today. |
